Merrill P. Thomas
Merrill P. Thomas has been in the shopping center development, leasing and management industry since 1977. During the first 15 years of his career, Thomas was with a regional shopping center developer, Folmar and Associates, starting out as a leasing agent and working up to Director of Leasing. During that tenure, he was involved in the leasing of 47 retail projects throughout six Southeastern states.
Thomas later went on to form his own commercial real estate development and brokerage company with an emphasis on retail development. Along with Merrill P. Thomas Co, he also represented Brandywine Real Estate Management Services in leasing and management services for 10 community size shopping centers located along the Gulf Coast from the Florida Panhandle to east Texas from 1993 – 1996.
Currently, Thomas is involved with the leasing and management services for a multitude of specialty shopping centers, office/warehouses and freestanding retail buildings. Thomas also has an active commercial brokerage business providing third party sales and leasing services in Mobile and Baldwin Counties.
Over the years he has been involved with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and has participated in five regional meetings as a speaker on various retail leasing topics. He’s also an active member of the Mobile Area Association of Realtors. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2006 and is the past President of the 1,400 member association. In the recent past, Thomas chaired the Commercial Real Estate Exchange Club and Governmental Affairs committee.
On a statewide level, Thomas currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Association of Realtors. In 2008 he was a featured speaker on retail properties at the University of South Alabama’s “Gulf Coast Commercial Real Estate Summit and Market Review” held at the Mobile Convention Center.
John M Delchamps
John Delchamps brings more than 20 years of real estate experience to the MPT team. Delchamps joined the team in 1999 as an associate broker. He is a member of the CCA and a former Mobile Chapter Board Member.
Delchamps is well known for his various civic duties as can be regularly seen volunteering for the American Cancer Society as well as dedicating time to help Mobile businesses through the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce.
A 1985 graduate of the University of Alabama, Delchamps was the former president of the Mobile Chapter University of Alabama Alumni Association and still remains as an active member.
He also serves on the Mobile County Wildlife Association as a board member.
M. Pratt Thomas, Jr.
Pratt Thomas brings a fresh and financial background to the MPT team. He is responsible for handling the sales, leasing and management of commercial properties for the company.
Previous to joining the team, Thomas worked his way up the chain at Regions Bank, serving as a Commercial Bank Officer for more than four years. Thomas has extensive knowledge of the commercial lending process as he worked first-hand on countless projects across the Gulf Coast.
Thomas has been dedicated to the Mobile area through his volunteerism for Habitat for Humanity, the United Way of Southwest Alabama, Mobile Chamber of Commerce, St. Paul’s Episcopal School and the American Cancer Society, and Coastal Conservation Association. He currently serves as an Young Advisory Group Member for the Providence Foundation of Providence Hospital.
He holds the coveted Certified Commercial Investment Member, CCIM, designation and serves as the Sponsorship Committee Chair. He currently serves as Chairman of Governmental Affairs Committee, holds a position on the ARPAC Committee, Nominating Committee, Allocation Committee, and sits on the Board of Directors for the 1,400 member Mobile Area Association of Realtors. He serves as President of the Mobile Commercial Real Estate Exchange Club and is a graduate of the 2011 Leadership Class of the Alabama Association of Realtors.
Daryl Cleworth is the latest addition to the growing MPT team. As an Agent, Daryl is involved with the leasing, sales, marketing, retail development and management of commercial real estate with a focus on the Baldwin County Area.

Daryl delivers over 25 years of Management, Sales Management & Marketing experience to the MPT team. His exceptional track record in corporate development, sales growth, financial strategies and marketing make him a solid choice in assisting you with your commercial real estate investments.
Daryl lives on the Eastern Shore with his wife Tina and the two youngest of five children. When not working, Daryl enjoys spending time with his family, Hunting, Boating and challenging himself with various extreme sports. His strong faith and family values led him to become a pastor in 2008.
Daryl serves on the Board of Directors with the Belforest Water System and Calvary Chapel. He has also been involved with both the Mobile and Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce.
